Former Olympic figure skater Peggy Fleming will be in Tampa’s Westshore Plaza on Tuesday, April 21, to promote healthy lifestyle activities and to encourage people take preventive measures to ensure they maintain a healthy heart.
During her visit to Tampa, Peggy and Kaneka Nutrients will donate 60 free heart-health screenings inside Westshore Plaza from 10 am-2 pm to help consumers gauge their risk for heart disease. People should RSVP in advance by calling (713) 752-1901.
As a former Olympian, breast cancer survivor and woman with a family history of heart issues, Peggy is extremely passionate about health. She lost her father to a heart attack when he was only 41 years old (prior to her winning an Olympic gold medal) and her sister recently died of a heart attack at 50. As a result, she has teamed up with Kaneka Nutrients to champion the Kaneka QH™ Heart 365 campaign and encourage consumers to take a more active role everyday in ensuring their heart health and overall fitness. As part of the campaign, Fleming is engaging in a multi-city tour to talk about the importance of heart health, early detection and prevention.
