Janet Root Theatre at Shorecrest Preparatory School

Part of the Raymund Arts Center, Janet Root Theatre seats 600 and is state-of-the art. Opened in 2002, the theater honors Janet Root, a parent who began a small fine arts class at the school more than a quarter of a century ago and developed it into an academic program that brings writers, drama troupes, dancers, musicians and visual artists to Shorecrest. The theater includes an orchestra pit, backstage space, and overhead flies. The modest size of the theater and its excellent acoustics ensure that the high quality of SPO’s singers and musicians will not be compromised.
