The annual 2011 Annual Air Fair will be held April 16 and 17 at the Sarasota Radio Control Squadron model airplane flying field in Rothenback Park at the East end of Bee Ridge Road 3 miles east of I-75 off Exit 207.
The event is free to the public and features Large radio controlled Model Airplanes that must have wing spans of 80 inches or larger. Modelers come from 3 states to fly at this outstanding site that features a 100 X 500 foot blacktop runway.
Over 50 plans will fly at the event like P-40 Warhawks, P-51D Mustangs, P-47 Thunderbolts, B-25 Mitchell bomber, J3 Cubs etc. Flying goes from 9 Am till 2 PM both Saturday April 16th and Saturday April 17th.
There is a concession stand at the field with food and drinks, porta-potties and sun shelters. The field is handicap friendly and you should bring a lawn chair, sunscreen and your cameras.
