The Sarasota Chalk Festival is an international cultural performing arts festival that focuses on the ephemeral art form of street painting where artists use the street surface as their canvas and chalk as their medium.
Hundreds of artists from all over the world apply to participate and thousands of children will will creating their own impromptu masterpieces. Focusing on Education, South Pineapple Avenue will become a timeline from early works of art starting in the 15th century as our artists take the audience through the history of pavement art all the way to the most modern movements of the 21st century.
The Sarasota Opera will perform Madame Butterfly for the first time outdoors as artists create an outdoor Opera Stage.
