Framework for Understanding

Participants learn about various economic classes and how behavior is affected, the difference between generational and situational poverty, the hidden rules within economic classes, the family structure of families from poverty, and the importance of the three voices of discipline. For volunteers working with students in poverty, this understanding of how different the student's world may be from that of the volunteer can be invaluable.
