Prarie/ Shell Creek Preserve

Please join the Peace River Audubon Society at 8:00 AM on Dec. 7th, for a
WalkAbout at Prarie Shell Creek. This 300+ acre parcel of land is managed by
SWFWMD. We are fortunate to have Stephanie Green, Land Management Specialist,
join us to talk about the scrub jay families and answer questions about the property.
There is a small pond where we will look for waterbirds, and an oak hammock
where we'll search for warblers. We'll park inside the gate, then walk together.
Be sure to dress appropriately and bring water and bug repellent.
Directions: The property is located on Hwy. 17, east of Punta Gorda. From Winn
Dixie, at the corner of 17 and Bermont Rd., continue 4.2 miles on Hwy. 17 and you'll see a sign on the LEFT. If there are any questions call Phyllis Cady at 941-286- 7638.
