With the increased numbers of people on the water every weekend there is a very high probability that you will encounter situations that can be dangerous, even deadly. As a responsible member of the boating fraternity you should be prepared thru education to handle any situation. These classes are inexpensive and taught by people who know boating. REDUCE THE RISKS, TAKE A CLASS IN SAFE BOATING!!

IT'S THE LEAST YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR FAMILY!!

In addition you will increase your enjoyment of owning and using your boat by taking the classes being offered by the Lakeland Sail and Power Squadron.

Our class in safe boat operation which will help to ensure that you and your family will have a safe and enjoyable time on the water. In addition the successful completion of this course may entitle the student to a discount with their boat insurance company. (I got 10% with Progressive which paid for the course!)

The next 4 week Power Squadron Boat Smart Course- Starts on Thursday, 06/04/09 thru 06/25/09 at 7 PM in the Presbyterian Homes meeting hall at #16 Lk Hunter Dr, northeast corner of Highlands and Lk Hunter, Lakeland. Cost is $35.00 and includes the textbook.

We also are offering a GPS class designed for those individuals who would like to know how to use and understand their GPS. It will seek to answer all your questions, so bring them (questions) with you.

The GPS Seminar will be Thursday, 05/28/09 at 7 PM at West Marine, Inc. 1107 S. Hwy 17 (7th St.) Winter Haven. Cost is $25.00 and includes material. Call 863-295-9788 for complete information.
