Please join the Peace River Audubon Society for a field trip to the Myakka State Forest on Saturday, January 22nd with Stu Lewis. This trip will be limited to 26 people in 5 carpooled vehicles. You must call Stu Lewis to sign up for this trip (941) 235-2590. We have been given special permission to bring vehicles into the MSF. There are several habitats where we hope to see the sedge wren, bachman’s sparrow, brown-headed nuthatch and king rail, along with many other species.
Bill Dunson, who is very familiar with the area, will escort us through the driving trails and help identify birds and plants. For those who have signed up, meet at 7:30 a.m. (Note time) at the west meeting spot –Charlotte County Stadium on Rt. 776. Rest rooms will be available at the Forest Office at the beginning of the trip. The trip should take about three hours.
All of our meetings, field trips and WalkAbouts are free and open to the public. For our complete schedule please visit PeaceRiverAudubon.org.
