Fertilizer BMP Certification Class (GI-BMP)
This class is required by Manatee County to provide training in Fertilizer Best Management Practices for anyone working in the landscape maintenance industry who applies fertilizers . This class is also know as the Gi-BMP class or Green Industry - Best Management Practices class.
Manatee County also requires a certification class to provide training in Landscape Best Management Practices for anyone working in the landscape maintenance industry who Does Not apply fertilizer . The Gi-BMP class helps professionals meet the requirements of the Manatee County fertilizer ordinance # 11-21. The ordinance requires that all fertilizer applicators working for commercial companies, governments and in-house employees of private companies obtain the Limited Certification for Urban Landscape Commercial Fertilizer.
This class provides the training and testing necessary to obtain a Limited Certification for Urban Landscape Commercial Fertilizer (Lculcf). It is focused on reducing non-point source pollution resulting from landscape maintenance activities.
Following completion of this training, you will be given a post-test to determine knowledge learned.
If the post-test is successfully completed, you will be mailed a certificate of completion.
This class may cancel if attendance is too low.

Deadlines: - All employees who apply fertilizer must attend this class and become certified by June 1, 2012. - Managers & supervisors may take either this class or the Landscape BMP class to meet the requirements of the Manatee County fertilizer ordinance.Deadline for managers and supervisors is Dec 31, 2012.
